About
Fractional law firm COO. Operator, not advisor. I've worked inside hundreds of firms — that's where the real patterns come from.
I run The Jakovenko Group out of Milton, GA — a fractional COO practice that works with small to mid-sized law firms simultaneously across practice areas and markets. Estate planning, immigration, personal injury, general litigation. Firms in Georgia, California, Virginia, Florida.
My credibility isn't a credential. It's breadth across hundreds of engagements — billing problems, staffing implosions, partnership disputes, tech stack disasters, collections crises, and everything else that happens when a lawyer decides to run a business without ever learning how to run a business.
My defining principle: the credential is not the competence. One firm sold for a decent exit doesn't make someone a law firm operations expert. Most consultants in this space are anecdotes. I've worked inside enough firms to know the patterns — where managing partners are always the problem, where the bench is, what good operations actually looks like versus what looks good on a slide.
I also build AI tools. Not platforms, not subscriptions — targeted automations for specific firm problems. EstatePlanOS is the flagship: an AI paralegal agent built for estate planning practices that processes intake, integrates with WealthCounsel, and hands attorneys analysis-ready packages without the manual lift. It started as a client build. It's becoming a product.
The long-term goal of the business is to get my operating knowledge out of my head and into systems that run without me. Every client engagement generates reusable frameworks, templates, and eventually automatable processes. That's the bet.
"If you can make your people as successful as possible, do it. Be selfish — you only live once. And then know when to get out of the way."
